Goons Tower Defense

The Goons Tower Defense :3 (pronounced Goons Tower Defense Colon Three) is a group on the Goon Craft SMP. The members of the GTD are Ace_of_heart, iam4pple, Kaleb_22, GMO298 (exiled), and SpikyTanooki.

Goon Gulch was the main competitor to the GTD:3 but most of the members have since left the server.

History

Prelude

GMO298 and Kaleb_22 start an alliance, and are quickly joined by Ace_of_heart. Ace_of_heart protects iam4pple, starting an alliance between them. Everyone gathers basic resources such as iron gear; Kaleb_22 and Ace_of_heart collect numerous diamonds and flexes on others with them.[1]

Fake Trial Chamber (iam4pple, Ace_of_heart, GMO298, Kaleb_22)

iam4pple finds a trial chamber and messages Ace_of_heart the coordinates. Ace_of_heart decides to meet up with Kaleb_22, who goes out to find the trial chamber together. They are shortly thereafter joined by GMO298. Ace_of_heart, Kaleb_22, and GMO298 try their hardest to find it, but end up dying multiple times and digging a giant hole into the ground. After a bit of searching, Ace_of_heart and Kaleb_22 decide to turn on xray to see if the trial chamber exists, and upon realizing it doesn't, go in the direction of a dungeon they saw. Ace_of_heart dies due to zombies at the dungeon, as does Kaleb_22's short-lived dog (good riddance). The dungeon is attached to a skulk cave, which is where the first GTD base was set up.

The Cave (Ace_of_heart, GMO298, Kaleb_22)

The cave was the first Goons Tower Defense base. It was at the bottom of the hole from the first chapter after Kaleb_22 x-rayed into a skulk cave. Ace_of_heart replaced the cave floor with calcite, and placed down the normal house things, including a door, lights, crafting table, furnace, and bed. Kaleb_22 found a golden helmet, which would later be the most important thing on the server. This is also where the joke of "Hey Gavin I am experiencing a bit of server lag" comes from. This is due to an incident where GMO298 bragged about his server being very powerful and claiming it does not lag shortly before it began lagging.[2]

The Village (Ace_of_heart, GMO298, Kaleb_22, iam4pple)

The Village was found by GMO298 and is currently where the GTD :3 resides. Directly after its discovery, the GTD decided to move their base there, and some items were left behind in the cave. While others were still traveling, GMO298 immediately trapped all of the villagers. Upon arrival, Kaleb_22 built their own house, while iam4pple and Ace_of_heart temporarily take a villager house before beginning a bigger project. Ace_of_heart is crowned the glorious leader of Goons Tower Defense :3 informally, and nobody has ever seriously challenged his supreme authority.

Split Paths and Progress (Ace_of_heart, GMO298, Kaleb_22, iam4pple)

Ace_of_heart and iam4pple begin work on a castle, which remains work-in-progress to this day. The castle is built out of mostly deepslate, with 4 main towers and a throne. Ace_of_heart would conscript iam4pple to mine deepslate in "the mines" to build the castle with, being one of his first demonstrations of authority and spawning many of the glorious leader jokes. GMO298 would reportedly "sex the villagers,"[3] getting multiple sets of enchanted diamond armor from them (which were useless to the others). Kaleb_22 goes on the first nether expedition, gathering 15 ender pearls before dying. However, they set out again, gathering 16 ender pearls and surviving this time. After this, Kaleb_22 meets up with Ace_of_heart, and they decide to go on a nether expedition together. Kaleb_22 gets lost many times, which has been turned into a small joke. They eventually find a nether fortress and gather 16 blaze rods, and decide to split them, with each of them carrying eight, so that if one of them die they will still have enough rods to fight the dragon. On the way back, they find another fortress, and Ace_of_heart dies while trying to pearl away from a wither skeleton. Most of their items are lost, including their blaze rods, but the crown survives. Ace_of_heart dies a few more times getting back in the nether, and ultimately most of his items are lost. Kaleb_22 survives and makes it back to the overworld with their blaze rods. It is around this time that SpikyTanooki joins the GTD, starting much romance with Ace_of_heart.

The Stronghold (Ace_of_heart, GMO298, SpikyTanooki, iam4pple)

Ace_of_heart and Kaleb_22 uses the blaze rods from chapter 6, and the ender pearls from chapter 5 to find the end portal with help from iam4pple and SpikyTanooki. The server closes down directly after they reach the stronghold.[4] SpikyTanooki dies after rejoining.

The Dragon (Ace_of_heart, GMO298, Kaleb_22)

The next day, Ace_of_heart, Kaleb_22, and GMO298 fight the dragon and win. Kaleb_22 and Ace_of_heart die multiple times again. GMO298 goes with Ace_of_heart to the outer end islands, where Ace_of_heart finds three elytras. The elytras were given to Kaleb_22, iam4pple (lost), and Ace_of_heart.

The Theft (WoodChuckGuy)

WoodChuckGuy steals Ace_of_heart's diamond throne inside of the castle, a dragon head, and reportedly iam4pple's diamonds. In reality, Ace_of_heart accidentally took iam4pple's diamonds, and simply lied about WoodChuckGuy taking them to avoid an awkward situation. Ace_of_heart would continue to blame WoodChuckGuy for taking things that he obviously did not and using him as a scapegoat, earning comparisons to George Orwell's Animal Farm.[5] Kaleb_22 would join in on this bit. Ace_of_heart is reportedly sorry.

The Farms (Ace_of_heart, Kaleb_22, GMO298, iam4pple, SpikyTanooki)

Over the next three days, much happened. While Ace_of_heart is away, everyone else starts working on their own farms: Kaleb_22 and their endermen farm, iam4pple and his mob farm, and GMO298 with his spawner. As soon as Ace_of_heart joins back however, work truly begins. Kaleb_22 was the first to get fully enchanted gear, Ace_of_hearts shortly after. While iam4pple worked in the mines, SpikyTanooki worked on an iron farm, and GMO298 on his villagers, Ace_of_hearts and Kaleb_22 travel to the nether in search of netherite and netherite smithing templates. Kaleb_22 would find 4 fortresses before finding a single bastion where the first and only template would be found. Meanwhile, Ace_of_hearts found enough ancient debris for over 15 netherite ingots totally legitimately. They would then distribute the netherite evenly with them getting 10, Kaleb_22 getting 5, and iam4pple getting 1. To this day, GMO298 is still the poorest in terms of gear, resources, and everything else that matters. This is also about the same time that Freakaccurate Lorebob would be born into the world.

The Short-Lived Betrayal (Ace_of_heart, Kaleb_22, GMO298, iam4pple)

Ace_of_hearts would head to the end in search of another elytra for iam4pple. iam4pple would receive gear from Ace_of_heart before being sent to the mines. GMO298 and Kaleb_22 went to the nether but in separate directions. GMO298, being the perfectionist he is, would try to get Return to Sender for 5 minutes straight, asking if the best time to hit the fireball back was late or early. Within the next hour, Ace_of_heart would find and give iam4pple an elytra and give the first ever sermon that would be held inside the castle, GMO would return home to work on the villagers, and Kaleb_22 would find netherite ingots. In addition, Kaleb_22 went on a streak of 12 nether fortresses without finding a single bastion, after which they portaled back to the overworld and found the world border. After they got home, iam4pple would come up from the mines and find a button in the castle floor. When he pressed it, the castle entrance would get blown up. Ace_of_heart would call a trial. Each citizen would come up to the stand and explain their alibi. Kaleb_22 had been in the nether the whole time in search of a bastion for gold. iam4pple had been in the mines. GMO298 had been with his villagers. Ace_of_heart would accuse GMO298 of using the gunpowder from the ghasts to make TNT. Ace_of_heart had also previously placed a button down on their throne, which they would press thinking nothing would happen. There were two more TNT connected to the button. The throne would be destroyed and quickly rebuilt. GMO298 would grant iam4pple operator in order to use an anti-griefing plug in, which wouldn't work. iam4pple then had the idea of going into a replay mod to find out who placed the first button. Ace_of_heart and Kaleb_22 trapped GMO298 in obsidian and kill him twice. They then spawn killed him several times until iam4pple was sent the message, "it was me lol," by GMO298. Ace_of_heart would take this as treason and would exile GMO298 for a total of 5 minutes. GMO298 argued his way out of being permanently exiled by pointing out it would be somewhat lame.
